Template. Review before launch. This document is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel.

1. Who we are

Pilot is a desktop application for working with Kubernetes clusters, published by Core Engine ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected]. These terms cover the use of the Pilot application and the pilot8.io website.

2. The software

Pilot is installed locally on your machine and connects directly to Kubernetes clusters that you configure. We do not host, access or process your cluster data; it never leaves your machine through us. The application sends no telemetry.

3. Trial

Pilot includes a 14-day free trial with all features enabled. After the trial expires, read-only functionality remains available; mutating actions require a valid license.

4. Licenses

  • A license is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right for one named individual to use Pilot's licensed features.
  • Licenses are delivered as offline, cryptographically signed files. Subscription licenses are valid for the paid period; lifetime licenses are perpetual.
  • You may not redistribute, resell or publish a license file, or use one license for multiple people.

5. Purchases, billing and taxes

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, which acts as the seller of record, handles payment processing, invoicing and applicable VAT/sales tax, and appears on your statement. Refunds are governed by our refund policy.

6. Accounts

A pilot8.io account (sign-in via Google or GitHub) is required only to purchase and retrieve licenses. You are responsible for the security of the identity provider account you use to sign in.

7. Acceptable use

You may not attempt to circumvent license enforcement, reverse engineer the license signing scheme, or use the software in violation of applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

The software, website and branding are our property or licensed to us. These terms grant you a right to use the software, not ownership of it.

9. Warranty and liability

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. Kubernetes is a powerful tool: actions you perform against your clusters with Pilot (including scale, delete, cordon and drain) are your responsibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

Governing law and venue: to be completed during legal review.
